One tip for john, with shock, keep the knot to the side of the spool whatever reel, coz when you whack it and that knot catches your thumb, ouch, i do it all the time Very Happy

Try tapered shock leaders, and as said knot on the left. i use them on a 5000 size multi with no probs

after the sandwich meet in which matt lent me his daiwa millionare 7ht to fish with ive decided to get one, cast well for me and was real nice to use. got one for just under 80 quid so the price was what i wanted.
will still get a couple of slosh's for the future breakwater/addy meets etc but got a few other bits to get first, baitrunners for carp/pike fishing next
